How to Prevent divisions in the Church, 1 Cor. 3:16-23 (Bro Twinkle Paul, 191215, Muscat)

1 Corinthians - Chap 1-4 deals with divisions, Chap 5-6 with disorders and Chap 7-15 with Difficulties

1 Cor.3:16-23 applicable verse for the sermon

a) vs 16-17: You are God's temple and God's spirit dwells in you - God;s temple is holy and you are that temple. > a proper perspective for the church

b) vs 18-20: a proper perspective of ourselves

c) vs 21-22: related to others - brethren (Eph 4: 11 - spiritual leadreship of the church). Also Eph 4:28

d) vs 22-23: related to possessions

e) vs 23: related to the possessor (God)

Mt 16:18 - Christ owns the church. in greek "(find the word) - Kuriaken" - this means " belongs to the Lord. Also 1 Tim. 3:15 - the church of the living God.

God dwells in 1) the tabernacle and temple of God 2) Christ 3) Church

Eph. 3:10-11 > the angels in heaven are ( shown/revealed) the wisdon of God (by/through) the Church

Psalm 133:1 - the ideal church

Comparison to Gen.49 on the animal descriptions of Jacob's children for the diversity of the people in the church.

Acts 20:28 - the church is bought by the blood of Christ - should not make divisions in the church

In 1 Cor 3: 16 - the "you" means the church and not in individual sense. In 1 Cor 6:19-20 the individual is menat " your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit"
